New TEDF Grant Will Fund Road Improvements
This winter has taken a toll on our already crumbling roads and we are quickly entering pothole season. Does your community have a population of less than 10,000? If so, MDOT announced a new category under the state Transportation Economic Development Fund (TEDF) that will provide $3 million dollars in grants per year through fiscal year 2023 to select communities with populations of less than 10,000 to complete road improvements.
With a maximum annual award of $250,000 and an equal match required by the community, the grant would fund a range of road improvement projects, including reconstruction, replacement, rehabilitation, and capital preventative maintenance. MDOT is now accepting applications for fiscal years 2019 and 2020, with additional consideration given to those projects that could be completed by the end of the 2019 construction season.
For more information on how FTCH can help your community prioritize your road improvement projects and apply for this funding, please contact Danielle Yoon. Applications must be received by Friday, April 5 to be considered for funding. More information regarding Category B funding is available here
