Michigan landfills are a small source for PFAS in waterways
The Michigan Waste & Recycling Association report entitled "Statewide Study on Landfill Leachate PFOA and PFOS Impact on Water Resource Recovery Facility Influent" was just released. The report underscores the prevalence of the hazardous chemicals used in everyday products and their danger to waters. But its authors caution that most PFAS in lakes and rivers likely comes from other industrial sources. Read more here.
