EGLE celebrates 50 years of the Clean Water Act with Webinar Series
The Federal Clean Water Act (CWA) took effect Oct. 18, 1972, regulating discharges of pollutants into U.S. waters and setting quality standards for surface waters. This year, we celebrate 50 years later of the CWA. To celebrate this legislation anniversary, the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) is promoting a three-week educational webinar series. Starting next Tuesday the following webinars will be hosted by EGLE:
“50 Years of the Clean Water Act: An Overview of the Clean Water Act and its History and Significance in Michigan” ,11 a.m.-noon Tuesday, Oct. 4
"Success Stories of the Clean Water Act in Michigan," 10:30 a.m.-noon Tuesday, Oct. 11.
"Remaining Challenges of the Clean Water Act in Michigan," 11 a.m.-noon Tuesday, Oct. 18.
